3rd Test Match Report

The 3rd Test resulted in a defeat for the touring side, losing to Westleigh by 23 runs. A full match report to follow when the scorecard is faxed across by Aggers & Blowers at the ground but a target of 71 in another of these thrilling 20:20 thrashes proved far too many for our brave boys in white. Skipper Darren Panter was in despair: "I had thought the game to be off as Seamo had informed that that there was a band on tonight. I never recovered my composure and then when they fielded a Calendar Girl that was the final straw. I blame myself and will be buying all of the boys pints of Doom Bar to compensate". Andy Hulse will not, of course, be needing a pint of Doom Bar as, for a second year, he was heard to state "If we don't get these I'm giving up booze for the rest of tour".

This defeat was particularly shocking given that most of the squad had earlier been for a very nice bike ride on the Tarka Trail and, after a suitable refreshment break, had practiced on Instow beach with over an hour of beach cricket. Possibly we had peaked too soon...

The Saturday weather forecast is good and so there is an immediate chance to level the series at Newton Tracey. Full details to follow when Reuters permits the next transmission...
