That win took Newton out of the drop zone but a defeat last weekend against Sandford has put them back in it, Newton losing by 110 runs, only Julian Moore - still in post-Scoogy rehabilitation - top-scoring with 29.

News from The Lawn
Having warmed up in their unsuccessful run chase against us at the end of July, Newton Tracey did a little better in a recent North Devon League game at Lynton, chasing down Lynton's 324-3 to win by six wickets. Lynton set their total by hitting 270 in the last 27 overs but Newton started at eight-an-over and kept it up to the end, winning with an over to spare. Simon Gear top-scored with 67 and cousin Rob finished it off with an unbeaten fifty.
