Spoilt for choice as we were, the stand-out Mick Comedy Moment proved to be his trick cycling display on the Tarka Trail. In fact he managed to fall off his bike twice on the same ride, most memorably having just finished heckling Robbo along the lines of ‘yaaahhh…old man on a bike’ then collapsing spectacularly in a heap at the Instow level crossing. Bravely remounting, he then set off at modest speed for the Yelland cycle hire centre but was over-ambitious at the final corner and went A over T again!
Mick’s alter-ego ‘Angry Mick’, who has made a couple of random tour appearances, is fondly remembered for his Holsworthy appearance, and his plucky but ultimately doomed attempt to turn for a second run at Sarawakians whilst high on Doom Bar also picked up a vote. It is only a shame that the You Tube generation haven’t been recording Mick for posterity over the last decade throughout which he has been, as always, a tour legend!
