  1. Many thanks for the update Webmaster and may I say well done to both Newton Tracey teams, congratulations. A bit unfair on Westleigh to get relegated because some vandal set fire to their pavilion which I guess meant they had to forfeit all future fixtures having been unable to secure an alternative ground? Say that as the table shows they only played 5 games? Excellent to see Holsworthy relegated, maybe they will now sort out their square to get some bounce in it allowing cricket shots rather than just hoicks!! Surprised to see Ilfracombe relegated to Div 5 given the size of the town and possible players, maybe they are all OAPs?

  2. Brief as always, Mick... I thought I was back in Westward Ho! for a moment experiencing another classic fines ceremony...

My mistake re. Westleigh - they did complete their 16 games, albeit sans-hut for the last few weeks, but got relegated on merit having just won the five matches... I'll try to get a status update on the club in due course...

  3. Our tourist, Dan Newby was voted Newton Tracey's young player of the year following a successful sojourn in North Devon - when he wasn't selling ice cream for Hockings (see elsewhere on this site). Dan also played a few games for North Devon 2nds, in one game bowling 15 overs for 18 runs.

  4. Thanks for the good publicity for Newton Tracey. Last season was tremendous for the club both teams winnng their leagues, in fact 1st XI unbeaten until very last match. Rob Gear nreaking the club batting record with 205 Not out v 8 man Holsworthy, despite being dropped on 0! the clubs 100th century and first double century. Dont think he has ever played in your match, unless he did as a colt, Pete can check
