Total confusion reigned this afternoon as the First Test was abandoned without a ball being bowled! Not quite a Shakoor Rana incident but more a visit from Captain Cockup as Chittlehampton revealed their expectation of a Sunday fixture, as is traditional, rather than this years relocated Saturday fixture as it was thought to have been agreed.
Reuters understands that the Second Test will go ahead at The Lawn on Sunday as planned but it is with deep regret that today's visit to The Bowl should end in such a sad way. It is to be hoped that international relations will not be permanently damaged as the ECB launch a full investigation...
