Further sad news has been received from North Devon as Bill Shepherd has died following a short illness. Coming so soon after his brother passed away it seems particularly harsh when, like David, Bill surely was due many more summers making the short walk down to the Instow home of North Devon CC to either umpire a game or sit in the sunshine with a pint to enjoy his well-earned retirement.
