19 Years for the Number 9

Not everybody can wear pink but Dan Newby - sponsored by Bodyform - certainly thinks he can, even at the ripe old age of nineteen, which he reaches today.

Despite his youth, Dan has now appeared on four tours, scoring 230 runs at an average of 19 as well as taking 14 wickets and 7 catches. There was a touch of the Ian Evans about him on this years tour but despite that hope is maintained of great cricketing things to come in future years.

Dan - son of Pete, brother of Willie - has a strong cricketing line, just outside off, but a less sure racing line when behind the wheel of a car. He is also promoting a fine line of Worcester University clothing and will be juggling cricket and the catwalk for the rest of the season. Following this years tour he also now knows how to get a fat bird into bed...

On behalf of everyone connected with Tour, we wish you a very Happy Birthday Dan... but maybe consider a nice shade of blue...
