In damp conditions the pitch may have been a little under-prepared but Westleigh got off to a good start only to collapse against the experienced second-change pairing of Hulse & Roberts. Nevertheless 71 seemed highly obtainable, less so when Abbey staggered to 25-5, but not to worry with all the main batting hidden in the tail! Still it's a funny old game and that much vaunted tail evaporated, the last five wickets falling for just seven runs. With over 5 overs remaining, Dan Singh - who had been in superb batting form on the beach earlier, armed only with a piece of driftwood - was left stranded on 2 not out.
The highlight of the lowlights for many was the direct hit which dismissed Robbo for nought, thrown in excitable fashion by October Hamlyn-Wright who, if the name confuses, was a girl. A strap of a girl, in fact, in baggy shorts and with a tendency to whoop in excitement, which reached fever-pitch as you would imagine at that moment. The Tour Champagne Moment was secured...
