Our Man In The Middle

It is good to report that our travelling tour umpire, Mick Moore, is getting some early season practise in, ready to scandulously reject countless perfectly plumb LBW shouts from Messrs Seaman, Nourse and Roberts. Mick reports that he has a full set of appointments to stand in games in the South Northants League and for the Oxfordshire Cricket Association, having been accepted onto both panels.

Mick has already stood in three SNCL games and three OCA games, including a game involving Clifton Hampden of Not Dark Yet fame. For those who have read this book, Mick reports that there are still two Cox-Rogers playing, both of whom remain in the runs, presumably due to Mick's customary largesse towards batsmen at the expense of hardworking bowlers such as Messrs Seaman, Nourse and Roberts.

Mick also reports that he is booked for Aylesbury Festival Week [cricket or beer?] and will be umpiring the Bucks v Norfolk U-13 girls game and a couple of cup quarter-finals, including one in the Buckinghamshire Challenge Cup. No reason to ruin any of those with LBW decisions, eh Mick?

Mick 'Fickle Finger Of Fate' Moore is looking forward to tour, although he may not be featuring in our evening games due to other daytime distractions. Messrs Seaman, Nourse and Roberts look forward to renewing the challenge!
