James is now a veteran of ten tours, having graduated from Tour Academy in 1999, and in that time he has hit 899 runs, taken 34 wickets and tops the fielding charts with 13 catches. "I owe it all to Roots Hall", says James gratefully, Roots Hall being a well known Bob Marley impersonator in Southend-On-Sea.
It is always irritating when someone combines natural ability with being a genuinely nice bloke - Fish got on our nerves for the same reason - especially as he remains one of the few whose batting average is higher than his age. However, James fits this category and it is for this reason - and not the birthday round in The Kings Arms that this eulogy should ensure - that the whole tour party wishes Jimmy B a very Happy Birthday and all the very best for his thirty-third year!
Well done Seamo on the best rhyming since Ganj linked Dlugo with a jet ski !
ReplyDeleteI'd like to echo Seamo's comments ( I'll want a beer too ! ). Further than that, every year we marvel at how he manages to stay too you to drive the mini-bus............mind you the prospect of driving Miss Daisy is one most will do anything to avoid !
