Abbey Tour Inc. is pleased to announce another significant milestone birthday as Mr Ron Ghose reaches 40 today.
Although this rare archive photograph would appear to suggest aggressive intent, truth to say all bar two of Ronnie's 624 runs have in fact been guided over the slip cordon or nurdled to leg. Ron has also conned 19 Devonian batsmen into donating him their wickets and he also has 8 catches from his 32 tour appearances, making him one of the tour's leading all-rounders.
Ron is now a family man so he won't be featuring in Cleos this year, instead preferring a quiet period of post-match reflection whilst steeling himself for the next day's boat trip. Indeed, our playing success this summer may rest on Ronnie's only 'nought-ical' experience being of the sea-faring kind! Ha! Ha! Ha! and Happy Birthday Ron, I'm sure you'll agree!
